Trading as The Field Game ("we", "us", "our")
These Terms & Conditions apply to all users who download the App, create an account, attend an Event, or participate in The Field Game scavenger hunts. By engaging with The Field Game, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not participate.
1. Eligibility
Participation is open to residents of Australia.
To be eligible:
- You must have a valid registered account
- Users under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian
- You must comply with all relevant laws, rules and guidelines
We may request proof of identity, age, and account ownership at any time.
1A. No Purchase or Payment Required
Participation in The Field Game is free.
- No purchase, payment, or consideration is required to download the App, create an account, or participate
- There are no entry fees, in-app purchases, paid upgrades, or payment requirements of any kind
- Participation does not require payment either inside or outside of the App
- Eligibility for prizes, including cash prizes, does not depend on making any purchase
2. Gameplay Rules & Conduct
The Field Game is a skill-based scavenger hunt involving the solving of clues and locating hidden coins or prizes.
Participants agree to:
- Behave respectfully toward others and public areas
- Follow directions provided in the App or by authorised staff
- Not interfere with other participants' gameplay
- Not tamper with clues, technology, coins or prize placements
Cheating, misuse of the App, data manipulation, or disruptive behaviour may result in disqualification, account suspension, or prize forfeiture.
We reserve the right to exclude, ban or bar participants (including prize winners) where we determine they have acted in bad faith, committed a crime, or behaved outside the ethos of the game.
3. Safety Requirements & Prohibited Actions
Participation involves movement through public spaces. You are responsible for your own safety.
You must not:
- Enter roads or traffic areas without pedestrian access
- Trespass into private or restricted property
- Climb buildings, structures, fences, or trees
- Enter waterways or hazardous environments
- Run into crowded or unsafe areas
- Ignore environmental hazards (including vehicles, weather, or construction zones)
Participation is voluntary and entirely at your own risk.
4. Skill-Based Game – No Element of Chance
The Field Game is a skill-based game.
Prizes are awarded solely based on:
- A participant's ability to interpret clues
- Navigation skills and physical discovery of hidden tokens
- Timely and successful completion of gameplay objectives
Winners are not selected at random. Chance, luck, raffles, lotteries, or sweepstakes mechanisms do not determine outcomes.
This game is not gambling and does not constitute a game of chance under applicable Australian laws.
5. Prize Coins, Claims & Time Limits
Hidden coins and prizes are awarded on a first-found basis.
To claim a prize:
- You must follow prize claim instructions in the App
- You may be required to provide a phone number or verification documents
- All claims must be completed before the advertised conclusion of the Event
Participants acknowledge that the winner of each prize is the person who presents the winning coin in person to the administrators or authorised representatives of The Field Game, regardless of clues posted or interpretations made.
Any unclaimed prizes after the Event ends are automatically forfeited. We may disqualify any claim suspected to involve rule breaches or misrepresentation.
All prize-awarding decisions by TFG Media Pty Ltd are final.
6. Types of Prizes & Fulfilment
Prizes may include:
- Cash prizes
- Digital rewards or in-App benefits
- Sponsor-provided promotional items or activations
- Physical goods or merchandise
- Vouchers or partner offerings
Unless stated otherwise:
- Prizes are not transferable and not redeemable for cash (except designated cash prizes)
- Alternate prizes of equal or greater value may be substituted due to availability
- Lost or stolen prizes will not be replaced
- Taxes, delivery fees, or other costs (if applicable) are the responsibility of the recipient
The Field Game reserves the right to withhold any prize gained forcefully, in bad faith, illegally, or in any instance where damage to property or persons occurred during participation.
In such cases, The Field Game may:
- Award the prize to another participant
- Use the prize for restitution
- Use the prize for any other purpose it deems appropriate
6A. Cash Prizes
Where cash prizes are offered:
- Cash prizes are awarded only as explicitly stated in the App or official rules
- Cash prizes are fulfilled outside of the App
- Winners may be required to verify identity and eligibility prior to payment
- Cash prizes are paid only to the verified registered account holder
Cash prizes are not transferable or exchangeable unless expressly stated otherwise.
7. Filming, Photography & Publicity Consent
By participating in Events, you acknowledge and consent that:
- Photos, videos, or recordings may be taken
- Such media may be used for promotional, editorial, or marketing purposes
- Use may include association with partners or sponsors
If you wish to opt out, you must notify us in writing prior to participating.
8. Technical Availability
We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted access to the App
- That all clues or prizes will always be available
- That the App will be error-free or secure
Events may be altered, delayed, or cancelled due to safety concerns, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
Background or foreground location services are used only to support gameplay functionality, subject to user-granted permissions.
No compensation will be provided unless required under Australian consumer law.
9. Liability & Assumption of Risk
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Participation is entirely at your own risk
- We are not liable for injury, death, property loss, financial loss, or other harm arising from participation
Whilst every effort is made to ensure accuracy, clues and gameplay may rely on third-party information. We assume no responsibility for inaccuracies or losses arising from them.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Australian consumer law.
10. Account Security & Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Breach of these Terms
- Fraudulent or malicious activity
- Conduct that compromises safety or integrity of the game
11. Intellectual Property
All content, including branding, game mechanics, images, text, and digital assets, remains the property of TFG Media Pty Ltd.
Unauthorised use or reproduction is prohibited.
12. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available within the App.
13. Changes to Terms & Event Suspension Rights
We may amend these Terms at any time where necessary for participant safety, operational reasons, weather impacts, or public interest.
Updated Terms become effective immediately upon publication in the App. Continued participation constitutes acceptance.
14. Dispute Resolution
Where a dispute arises, we will act in good faith based on the information presented.
Our decisions are final to the extent permitted by law.
14A. Apple Disclaimer
Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in, The Field Game, the App, any Events, or any prizes or promotions conducted through the App.
Apple Inc. bears no responsibility for the administration of the game, prize fulfilment, or participant eligibility.
